Glow-in-the-dark yarn

Kristina sent me a link to glow-in-the-dark yarn made by Bernat. It comes in 5 pastel colors plus white. It is a worsted weight yarn and supposedly will glow for 5 minutes after exposed to light for 5 minutes. (I wonder if exposed to light for longer than 5 minutes, would it glow for longer, too?) It's acrylic/polyester (what did you expect?) but I'm intrigued just the same.

Ravelry shows 82 projects with this yarn, so it's out there. I saw a couple of hats that look like candy corn - cute. If I use this, though, I'll probably just make a simple white hat and make it look like a ghost somehow. Wouldn't that be fun for trick-or-treating?

  1. Freaky! I guess it was only a matter of time. I think you should knit gloves and then do one of those cool jazz-hands routines in black outfit.

Actually, the hat sounds like a better idea. But you'll have to line it with foil so you don't irradiate your head.
