One Row Scarf - FO

Whew! I think I started this scarf half a dozen times before settling on the final incarnation. Once I decided how it was going to work, it was a very quick knit. The pattern is Stephanie Pearl-McPhee's One Row Handspun Scarf (though I didn't use handspun) and I only cast on 18 stitches with a US 10.5 needle. I used 2 50 g balls of Mexican Wave, which is an aran weight 100% acrylic with a tweedy look and long color changes. I got this yarn as a Christmas gift from a coworker 2 years ago. It looks kind of rainbow-y when you see the entire thing together. It looks more tweedy when you see it up close.

This pattern has a lot going for it. It's super simple (I knit it all at the office or in the car) and is completely reversible. I would choose it again, especially for handspun yarn. It would also look good in one of those Noro yarns that have the ridiculously long color changes.

This scarf goes into the gift basket - it's a birthday gift for someone in 2009. I'm fairly sure she doesn't read the blog, but just in case, I'll be circumspect.
