I truly feel like the holiday season has begun because we had our C3 party yesterday. C3 is Crafts, Cookies, and Cocktails, and I guess it’s a bonafide tradition because this was its third year. The evening is meant to be an antidote to what can be a stressful time of year, a time in which to sit back, relax, and create.
Our yarn craft was this adorable little owl (free pattern!) You can see that I acquired larger eyes after making my test owl. These are 15 mm eyeballs purchased at my favorite website for safety eyes, 6060. Above are owls knit by Heidi and me (she used larger needles than I did, and it really shows). Here is Julie’s owl:Judy’s owl was close to done by the end of the evening, but he hadn’t been stuffed yet. Such a handsome color combination:
You have probably already noticed the duck tape in the background. Turns out it is pretty easy to make a useful little pouch from a zipper and duck tape.
I can’t believe I forgot to take pictures of the cocktails and cookies, but you can see the empty martini glass in the photo above. We made the chocolate martini recipe included with the tin of Bellagio Sipping Chocolate. It was pretty freaking awesome (again, note EMPTY glass!).
We made stamps and stamped paper things (cards, tags)…
We made some paper chains which I failed to photograph. And someone even brought a languishing latch hook project (yes, it is a rug kit of a cat sleeping on a rug). It was fun to hook again – I haven’t done that in many decades. It was an evening of busy hands and happy hearts. Thanks, ladies – let’s do it again next year!
Great idea-- so much creativity and fun. Many thanks.
ReplyDeleteThose owls are so freakin' cute. I'll have to take your word on the chocolate martini...
