Hey everyone,
Gettysburg/Musselman alum and fellow librarian Anne Kennedy just got a shoutout from Knitty.com!
From this post:
Socks for Soldiers: Anne Kennedy, Reference Librarian at Licking County Library, Newark, OH gives us a glimpse into history. She writes about the initiatives to knit socks for soldiers during the US Civil War. Bonus: she includes a pattern for socks as printed in Scientific American magazine in 1861. Really!
Nice article, Anne! And I can say “I knew you when…”
So cool! I'm trying to imagine knitting socks on size 00000 needles. Frightening! Yet strangely compelling...
ReplyDeleteThanks :) It was certainly a surprise to see it on the knitty blog!
