Time for recess!

School started here this week, which means “recess” is now a topic of conversation. The name of this yarn colorway is “Recess” and it does evoke crayons and fun, doesn’t it?

I started these socks just after returning from our big road trip (I might have erred in not taking enough truly simple knitting, like this). The yarn is Knit Picks Felici Sport (sadly, now discontinued) and this is my usual top-down vanilla sock with afterthought heel. You can see how nicely the self-striping yarn forms a bullseye on the heel. I just love that and always take care to jigger the colors so that the heel looks like it’s growing out of the stripe at that point in the sock.
